Fish Bites: Thursday, March 28th

Every Thursday in 2024, just in time for you to get ready for the weekend ahead, we here at ANGLERS Fly Shop bring you Fish Bites. Not another bloated, out-of-date fishing report, just a few of the most important, need-to-know updates on #BoiseAnglers favorite local fisheries.

Everything you need to know, nothing you don’t.

This Week:

RIVER UPDATE

  • South Fork Boise

    • Curently 600cfs. SF Boise, Silver Creek, and Big Wood closed April 1st to Saturday of Memorial weekend.

  • Boise River through town

    • Currently 2,000 CFS. Not safe to wade or float.

  • Owyhee River:

    • Currently 250 CFS but subject to change. Owyhee flows are likely to start fluctuating in April so check before going

Fishing has been good at all. WE suggest focusing on light Baetis and Midge hatches and a few Skwala's on SF

    • DON’T FORGET: SF Boise, Silver Creek, and Big Wood are closed from April 1st to Saturday of Memorial weekend.

    • Stillwater Update

    • Duck Valley Reservation.: Mountain View, Sheep Creek fishing is excellent, but be sure to check the weather

    • Billy Shaw: Opens this coming Monday, April 1st. Expect excellent fishing

    • Malheur Reservoir in Oregon is a good option.

    • A bit more warm weather and the bass fishing should start!
