Fish Bites: Thursday, Feb. 29th

Every Thursday in 2024, just in time for you to get ready for the weekend ahead, we here at ANGLERS Fly Shop bring you Fish Bites. Not another bloated, out of date fishing report, just a few of the most important, need to know updates on #BoiseAnglers favorite local fisheries.

Everything you need to know, nothing you don’t.

This Week:

  • Owyhee River: Flows should remain at 250cfs for awhile. It’s usually short notice when they increase, so not a bad idea to check before going. We’ll be sure to let you know! San Juan worms, scuds, midge and streamers are the ticket. Slight, but improving dry fly bite in the afternoon at some specific some locations.  Fish it often because once the reservoir tops off, we'll have higher than average flows this Spring!

  • South Fork of the Boise River : Improving, but a cold weekend and following week forecasted which might upset the bite.

  • Boise River in town: Improving, finally! Try nymphs in the faster water!
